The interim Board of Directors has set the membership fee at $10 per year. This minimal fee allows Transition Nelson to become more self-sustaining, provides an opportunity for additional commitment, and does not present a large economic barrier. On January 26th, we’re holding an Open Space Meeting at the Seniors Center (719 Vernon), from 7-9pm. The plan for the meeting is simple. Those present will come up with ideas for transition projects (film nights, public talks, permaculture workshops, etc, whatever raises awareness around the need to transition to greater local resiliency), then we’ll break into groups, exchange contact info, and actualize these ideas.
