On January 26th, we’re holding an Open Space Meeting at the Seniors Center (719 Vernon), from 7-9pm. The plan for the meeting is simple. Those present will come up with ideas for transition projects (film nights, public talks, permaculture workshops, etc, whatever raises awareness around the need to transition to greater local resiliency), then we’ll break into groups, exchange contact info, and actualize these ideas.

Next TN Expo Meeting – Monday, January 11th 6pm to 7:30pm. Location: Suite #2, 373 Baker St. All welcome in planning and executing Expo event May 14/15/16th.

The Kootenay Shambhala Meditation Centre is hosting a “Sounds of 350″ gathering to show support for a binding climate change agreement in Copenhagen. The gathering will include time for silent contemplation, chanting practices designed to clear obstacles, and 350 recitations of a mantra from the Heart Sutra, which helps dispel fixed modes of thinking. All are welcome.
